Policy in Motion is a licensed Small Business in the State of California and classified as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The federal government’s goal is to award at least five percent of all federal contracting dollars to women-owned small businesses each year. To help provide a level playing field for women business owners, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the women’s contracting program. These contracts are for industries where women-owned small businesses (WOSB) are underrepresented, including Environmental Consulting and Political/Policy Organizations.
Lauren Michele has received undergraduate and graduate scholarship awards from the Society of Women Engineers and the Women’s Transportation Seminar, where she later served as a Board member for the Sacramento Chapter.
